Freshmen entering as -Interior Design majors must have a minimum composite ACT score of 22 and a high school GPA of 2.75 in order to be considered for admission as a -Interior Design major. All Interior Design students will remain as first year candidates until the following requirements have been met.

Screening of First Year Interior Design students will take place after the student has completed the required courses listed above with a minimum grade point average of 2.50.
After the final exam week of spring semester, and if all of the requirements have been met, the candidate for admission to theSecond year of Interior Design program must submit a portfolio of creative accomplishments. The portfolio must include representative work from the courses listed above. Other creative course work may be included.
Selection of candidates by the interior design faculty and review committee will take place at the end of spring semester. Candidates will receive notification of acceptance or rejection within four weeks after the last day of exams. Each candidate will be notified by letter from the Interior Design Program regarding admission to the Interior Design major. After admission to the program, the Interior Design major must maintain a grade point average of 2.50 in all courses taken in the major (all courses in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design, College of Business, Schools of Art, Technology, and Visual Communication and Design). Upon admission into the second year of the Interior Design major, students can expect a minimum of three years for completion of the program.
The program is a professional program based on both lecture and studio work. Because of this, the course work requires the use of expendable materials. The Interior Design major will be expected to purchase art supplies and materials beyond the regular textbooks as well as the purchase of a laptop computer within the College of Architecture & Environmental Design specifications. Other technology may need to be purchased as needed by the individual student.
