Students enrolled at KSU (at the main or at the regional campuses) as "AED General" major, or in other majors, may apply to transfer into the BSc in Arch program as "ARCH" majors.

Students from other higher education institutions may also apply for transfer.

In order to transfer, a minimum 2.75 GPA is required. This GPA must be based upon a minimum of 24 semester hours of college level work. (Students with less than 24 semester credit hours will be considered with the high school student pool).

Transfer applicants who have completed English and Calculus but have no background in architecture from NAAB accredited schools are encouraged to apply for admission to First Year Design Studio I and II during the Summer session. Enrollment in these courses during the Summer could reduce student formal education time by as much as one year.

All students requesting transfer of credit for architecture courses taken at a school accredited by the NAAB shall present a list of such courses to the Architecture Program Coordinator for review and assessment. No credit will be given for courses with grades less than "C." A portfolio of work is required for students seeking transfer of credit for studio courses.

Applications for transfer students plus the course evaluation and portfolio must be received by:

  • MAY 15 for Summer Session entry (1st Year Design Studio)
  • JULY 1st for Fall Semester entry
  • NOVEMBER 1st for Spring Semester entry,

Upon review of completed credentials, the Architecture Program Coordinator will notify transfer applicants about their application. Students accepted into the program will be advised of courses to be taken upon entry.
